Dr. Luis A. Alcala, D.O., Family Medicine, is delighted to join the ranks of the exceptional providers at Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville, Texas.
His educational journey began at St. Edward’s University, Austin, TX, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and graduated Cum Laude in the Honors Program. He then attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX, graduating as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. At the Texas A&M College of Medicine, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock, TX, he completed his residency training in Family Medicine.
His professional organization memberships have included the American Academy of Family Physicians, The Christian Medical Association, The Student American Association of Osteopathy, The Texas Medical Association, The Wilderness Medicine Student Interest Group, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Alcala has a compassionate nature and a strong sense of community. He has engaged in volunteer and community experiences, including a Hispanic Wellness Fair, the Safe Kids Tarrant County Program, volunteering at the Grace Clinic, participating in Mission Arlington and Mission Fort Worth, and has taken a Medical Missions trip to Guatemala as well as others.
He is familiar with several languages. He is a Spanish speaker with proficiency in reading and writing. He also knows Brazilian Portuguese on a conversational level and Mandarin Chinese on a fundamental level.
Dr. Alcala’s hobbies and interests include travel. He has made trips to Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Central America, Mexico, and French Polynesia. He enjoys learning languages and experiencing different cultures.
He’s excited to reside in La Vernia and provide care to our family, friends, and neighbors in Wilson County.
